Yuri A.Gulyagin was born in 1956 in the Revdensk District, Sverdlovsk Region. In 1984 he graduated from the All-Union Distance-Learning Institute of Law with degree in “Legal science”

1973 - 1974 – turner of the Degtyarsk branch of the Ural Chemical Engineering Plant, town of Degtyarsk, Sverdlovsk Region

1974 - 1982 – service in military forces

1982 - 1985 – trainee, Chief investigator of the Bikin city Prosecutor’s Office of Khabarovsk Territory, the city of Bikin, Khabarovsk Territory

1985 - 1989 – Public Prosecutor of Bikin, Khabarovsk Territory, Bikin

1989 - 1992 – Public Prosecutor of Amursk, Khabarovsk Territory, town of Amursk, Khabarovsk Territory

1992 - 1998 – Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Khabarovsk

1998 - 1999 – Deputy Chief of the International Legal Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Moscow

1999 - 2000 – Head of Main Directorate of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Khabarovsk Region, Khabarovsk

2000 - 2005 – Chief of the Federal Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Khabarovsk

2005 - 2006 – Head of the Federal Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Khabarovsk

1999 - 2006 – Chief of the Main Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for the Far-Eastern Federal District

2006 - present – Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

He received state and departmental awards on numerous occasions for his contribution to promoting the rule of law and public order.

He is 1st Class State Counselor of Justice.
