Signature of the Additional Protocol to the Agreement on Co-operation between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Russia and Slovakia
Today Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika and Prosecutor General of the Slovak Republic Dobroslav Trnka have signed the Additional Protocol to the Agreement on Co-operation between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of these two countries.
The Protocol, signed for 2008-2010, specifies interaction of the Parties in terms of organization of joint workshops, consultations, practical studies of officers and some other activities.
During the workshops, it is expected to share information on the duties and organization of work of the Russian and Slovak prosecution authorities, on the authorities of public prosecutors and practice of supervision over proceedings of preliminary investigation authorities and on the role and competence of public prosecutors in consideration of criminal cases in courts.
Moreover, the Parties intend to hold consultations on extradition and legal assistance matters and a round-table discussing the “Role and Powers of Public Prosecution in Combating and Preventing Drug Trafficking”.
In accordance with this Document, the Parties shall exchange interdepartmental publications and methodic materials about the core activities of the bodies and institutions of the Russian and Slovak prosecution services including case materials.
These and some other activities are planned for the purposes of promotion of relations between the above-mentioned institutions in their key activities, and implementation of the Agreement on Co-operation.
