About extradition from Spain to Russia of citizen of the Russian Federation Andrey Gorohov, accused of committing homicide

Today upon the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain extradite citizen of the Russian Federation Andrey Gorohov to Russia. He is accused by the investigative authorities of committing of crimes provided in Article 105 (2) (homicide) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The Sovetsky Interdistrict Investigative Division for city of Bryansk of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee at the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation for Bryansk Region is inquiring into criminal matter upon charges in respect of Gorohov.

It was established that Gorohov in April 2004 in the city of Bryansk, being in the flat of his acquaintance, knowing that a guest has large sum of money and golden jewellery, made a decision to seize them, killing him. In the presence of landlady of flat Gorohov hit victim with metal dumbbell in the head and arms not less than 12 times. From the inflicted injuries victim died on-site. Then Gorohov stole 7 thousand of US Dollars, golden jewellery in the value of 154 thousand of Roubles and automobile Mazda in the value of 8700 US Dollars.

In July 2004 Gorohov was declared federally wanted and in September 2007 was arrested on the territory of Spain.

At the same time the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation forwarded the Request for his extradition to the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Spain.

In September 2009 Spanish authorities agreed to extradite Gorohov to Russia.

Today Andrey Gorohov, accompanied by officers of Russian bureau of Interpol and Federal Service for Execution of Punishment was extradited to Russia.
