The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland signed the Programme for Cooperation for 2016 – 2019

Today on 20 October 2016 in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the Deputy of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Mr. Alexander Gutsan met with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland Mr. Asko Välimaa. Leading officials of both offices also participated in the event.
Greeting guests Mr. Alexander Gutsan noted that there are stable traditions of active political dialogue and regular meetings on high and the highest levels continue to promote strengthening of foundation of friendship and good-neighborly relations between states.
As the Deputy of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation stressed, signing of the fourth Programme for Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland is an important step towards further strengthening and development of cooperation of the law-enforcement agencies of two states in the sphere of crime combating, protection of rights and freedoms of citizens, interests of society and state.
In framework of realization of the Programme specialists of both states may continue to exchange work experience and best practices on actual directions of activities and also to work out coordinated approaches towards solving of common tasks they are facing.
For 2016 in the Programme is scheduled meeting on matters of international cooperation in the sphere of extradition for criminal prosecution or execution of sentence and rendering legal assistance in criminal matters.
In 2017 there will be workshop on topic “Combating human trafficking and organization of illegal migration. Ensuring of human rights protection in the course of prosecuting for crimes connected with human trafficking and organization of illegal migration” and round table on topic “Combating cybercrime: exchange of experience of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland”.
In 2018 are provided: workshop on topic "Legal and organizational grounds of combating corruption in Russia and Finland" and round table devoted to exchange of experience on combating corruption in the sphere of environmental protection and nature management.
In 2019 there also will be workshop on topic: "Issues of carrying out legislative activities in the bodies of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland, peculiarities of interaction with other bodies of state authority".
Furthermore the Programme provides for exchange of institutional and science publications, methodical materials on main directions of activities of bodies and organizations of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland, including materials of court practice.
As a final remark Mr. Alexander Gutsan on behalf of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and on his own behalf again confirmed drive towards further development of interagency cooperation.
