The International Seminar on the Issues of Organization of Counteraction to Corruption in France, Denmark and Russia

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation hosted the international seminar on the issues of organization of counteraction to corruption in France, Denmark and Russia.

The event was held to implement the arrangements stipulated in the Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecution Service of the Kingdom of Denmark for 2010-2012 and in the Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of France for 2010-2011.

Mr. Alexander Buksman, the First Deputy of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, opened the seminar.

The employees and officials of the Department for Supervision over Legislation on Combating Corruption, the General Department for Participation of Public Prosecutors in Consideration of Criminal Cases in Courts, the General Department for International Legal Cooperation, General Department for the Supervision over Investigation, the Department for Supervision over Inquiry, Operative and Search Activities, and the Scientific Research Institute of the Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia participated in the seminar.

The French law enforcement agencies were represented by Mr. Lionel Benaiche, the Secretary General of the Central Service for prevention of corruption of Inter-ministry structure at the Ministry of Justice of France, and Mr. Gabriel Bestard, the Prosecutor General of Aix-en-Provance.

The Danish delegation included Mr. Hans Jacob Folker, the Deputy State Prosecutor on grave economic crimes in the Special Prosecutor's Office for serious economic crimes, Mr. Jesper Fridrichsen, the Head of the Division on serious economic crimes in the Special Prosecutor's Office for serious economic crimes, Mr. Per Kil Lauritsen, the Senior Prosecutor of the Department for economic crimes in the Police of Western Jutland, and Mr. Lars Liechtenstein, the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Kingdom of Denmark.

Foreign guests listened with interest to the reports of Russian colleagues on a wide range of issues of organization of combat against corruption and the available experience of international cooperation in this sphere. Among the main topics of reports were such as "Organization of Prosecutor's Supervision over Legislation on Combating Corruption", "On the National Contact Point for Seizure and Confiscation of Proceeds from Corruption Crimes", "On Peculiarities of Support of State Prosecution in Criminal Cases of Corruption Crimes", "On Anti-Corruption Expertise of Standard Legal Acts and their Drafts" and many others.

Foreign experts touched upon a range of issues concerning organization of combat against corruption in the Republic of France and the Kingdom of Denmark. The reports were made on the topics of "Deontology (professional ethics) and Prevention of Corruption", "Efficiency of Legislative and Legal Methods in the Sphere of Combating Corruption and Organized Crime", "Detection of Corruption and Challenges connected with Confiscation of Proceeds from Corruption" and etc.

The Seminar was held in a business-like and friendly environment. The parties exchanged the ideas and confirmed their intention to continue and develop cooperation in the sphere of combating corruption.
