Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation meets Prosecutor General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Today Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika has met Prosecutor General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Chan Kwok Vyong in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, the Prosecutors General discussed cooperation between their institutions including issues of training and retraining of legal officers.

In his speech of welcome, Yuri Chaika highlighted the traditionally friendly character of the Russo-Vietnamese relations and expressed his hope that this visit of the Prosecutor General of Vietnam to Russia would contribute to the establishment of strong professional ties between the two Offices.

In his turn, the Prosecutor General of Vietnam expressed his gratitude for the invitation to visit Russia and said that he highly appreciated the joint work of the prosecution authorities of Russia and Vietnam in the settlement of different legal issues.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to elaborate a program of cooperation between the two Offices on a wide range of issues in the near future.

In particular, the Prosecutors General have discussed issues of retraining of the officers of the Prosecution Service of Russia and Vietnam. According to Chan Kwok Vyong, the Russian system of professional retraining was one of the best in the world and the Vietnamese side was ready to send to Moscow and St. Petersburg two groups of officers of the Prosecution Service for professional retraining.

The two colleagues expressed hope that the meeting would facilitate the establishment of closer ties between the Prosecution Services of both countries and would become the next step towards efficient cooperation.
