Today, on August 30, 2016, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany are extraditing Russian citizen Alexander Nikolaevich Polishchuk to Russia.
In March 2010 the Kirovsk District Court of the Primorsky Krai found Polishchuk guilty in absentia for crimes envisaged by Article 228 (2) (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, making without intent to sale of narcotic drugs, committed at an especially large scale), Article 30 (3), Article 228.1 (3;d) (attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs at an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and convicted him to 11 years deprivation of freedom.
The court established that in early October 2005 in the Kirovsk District of the Primorsky Krai Polishchuk found and picked the hemp plant without intent to sale and then made narcotic drug from it – hemp oil (cannabis oil) – with a total mass of more than 480 g.
Besides in October-November 2005 he wanted to sale hemp oil in parts in trade for a cell phone priced at 2400 roubles and an automobile Toyota Corolla priced at 95000 roubles. Both sale attempts were not carried out due to circumstances beyond his control.
Since Polishchuk escaped from the law enforcement authorities, in March 2006 he was declared nationally wanted and in December 2009 internationally wanted.
In November 2015 he was detained on the territory of Germany.
In December 2015 the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent to the Federal Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany a request for extradition of Polishchuk to Russia in order to enforce a sentence imposed upon him.
In August 2016 the German party by its note verbale informed the Russian party about the consent to extradite the indicated person.
Today Polyshchuk is being extradited to Russia accompanied by the escort officers.
