Extradition of a Russian national, accused of being an accomplice to the activity of illegal armed groups, from Germany to Russia

Today, on March 23, 2017, on the request by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany have extradited Russian national Khusen GADAMAURI to Russia.
GADAMAURI is accused of the crime, stipulated in Art. 33 part 5, Art. 208 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (aiding members of an armed group, not provided for by a federal law).
According to the investigation, since May 2012 in the Sunzha Region of the Republic of Ingushetia GADAMAURI had been rendering aid to members of the “Sunzha Dzhamaat” illegal armed group by supplying them with foodstuff, clothes and medicines.
Since the accused escaped, in March 2013, he was declared wanted at the national level, and on October 30, 2015 – at the international level.
According to the German NCB Interpol, on October 7, 2016, GADAMAURI was arrested in Germany.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation requested extradition of the accused from the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany. The extradition was granted.
Today, on March 23, 2017, in Hamburg international airport GADAMAURI has been handed over to representatives of the Russian competent authorities.
