Extradition of a Russian national accused of intentional infliction of grave injury to health, which is life-threatening, from Israel to Russia

The competent authorities of the State of Israel by request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation have extradited Sergey DOBROLYUBOV, Russian national, to the Russian Federation.

DOBROLYUBOV is accused of the crime fallen within the scope of Article 111 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grave injury to health, which is life-threatening).

According to the investigation, in October 2003, in the city of Perm, DOBROLYUBOV while conflicting with another man stabbed him several times and thus caused penetrating knife wounds with damage to the internals.

Since the accused escaped he was declared wanted on the federal level, and on November 7, 2006 – on the international level.

According to the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the State of Israel DOBROLYUBOV was arrested in that country.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation requested the extradition of the accused from the State of Israel. The extradition was granted.

Yesterday, on April 6, 2017, in the Ben Gurion International Airport, Tel Aviv, DOBROLYUBOV was handed over to representatives of the law-enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation.
