On the extradition to Russia from the Republic of Ecuador of the Russian citizen accused of illegal manufacture of psychotropic substances on an especially large scale

Today, on 20 May 2017, the competent authorities of the Republic of Ecuador extradited the Russian citizen Anatoly Svyatenko to Russia, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

He is accused of the crime specified by Article 228 (2) of the RF CC (illegal manufacture of psychotropic substances on an especially large scale).

According to the investigation, before August 2011, Svyatenko together with other persons in the city of Krasnoyarsk had been engaged in the manufacture of psychotropic substance amphetamine on an especially large scale of about 900 grams.

Since the accused person absconded from the law enforcement authorities his federal search was launched, and on 30 November 2011 he was placed on the international wanted list.

According to the information of NCB of the Republic of Ecuador Svyatenko was detained in this state.

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Ecuador granted the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for the extradition of Svyatenko.

Yesterday on 19 May 2017, Svyatenko was handed over to the representatives of the law enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation.
