On the meeting of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhakip Asanov

Today, on 1 June 2017, within the framework of the Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika and Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhakip Asanov held a meeting.
The event was also attended by Deputies Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Saak Karapetyan and Aleksander Gutsan, Deputy Chief of the Department for Supervision of Legality of Pre-Trial Stage of Criminal Proceedings of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Abaev, heads of structural subdivisions of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.
The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed his confidence that the 2017 forum will contribute to further promotion of the dynamic Russian-Kazakh economic relations, including within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community.
Yury Chaika emphasized that the economic development faces a number of challenges, many of which are in the legal field. At the same time, the economic progress in the modern civil society can be achieved only if human rights and freedoms are strictly observed. Therefore, the activities of the Prosecution Service play an important role for the stable development and legal modernization of the state and society.
It is the Prosecution Service which, by means of revealing violations in the field of economic and entrepreneurial activity, is able to take real measures to eliminate such violations and restore the infringed interests of the individual, state, society and business structures.
Yury Chaika expressed hope for continuing fruitful cooperation between the prosecutors of Russia and Kazakhstan, including at the international forums. He also invited to meet in Saint-Petersburg in November 2017 at the sessions of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member States and Prosecutors General of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
