The competent authorities of Germany granted the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation for the extradition of the accused in the criminal case of murder

At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, Mr. Denis Gorshenin accused of the crime falling under Article 105 (1) of the Criminal Code (murder) was brought to Moscow from the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to the investigation, on 2 January 2001, in the city of Saransk, Mordovia, Mr. Gorshenin, after a conflict in a local restaurant, shot dead one of the visitors.
As the subject escaped from law enforcement agencies, he was placed on the international wanted list. The court ordered a preventive measure in the form of detention to be applied for him.
In March 2017, Gorshenin was detained in Germany. Therefore, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany. The extradition request was considered and granted by the German authorities.
