Today, on August 23, 2017, competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany are to extradite Russian national Alexandr LOMOV to Russia by request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

He is accused of the crime under Art. 264 part 3 (violation of the traffic rules by a person driving an automobile, which entailed death of a person due to negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The criminal case against LOMOV is being inquired into by the Investigative Division of the Main Investigative Department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow.

According to the investigation, on December 13, 2016, LOMOV drove a Mercedes-Benz car along the Baumanskaya Street. He ignored the fact that the road was wet due to weather conditions and the car rushed to the pavement where it collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian died.

Since LOMOV absconded and left Russia, in December 2016, he was placed on a federal and an international wanted list.

In July 2017, he was arrested in the Munich airport.

In August 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation requested competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany to extradite LOMOV to Russia. Two days later the extradition was granted.

Today officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the NCB Interpol Russia will bring Aleksandr LOMOV to Russia.
