The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has hosted a meeting with representatives of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Turkey

Today, on October 18, 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has hosted a meeting with representatives of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Turkey.

Mr. Leonid Korzhinek, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Mr. Mehmet Yilmaz, Deputy Chairman of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Fuzuli Aydogdu, Istanbul Deputy Chief Prosecutor, as well as heads of the units of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and representatives of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Turkey took part in the meeting.

The terms of reference of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors of Turkey include personnel issues (including appointment of members of the Council of State and the Supreme Court of Appeals), control over proper fulfillment of work work by judges and prosecutors, compliance of their actions with law, consideration of complaints and other conflicts resulted from activity of Turkish courts and prosecution services, as well as relevant investigation into violations revealed.

The participants of the meeting stressed its importance for further development of Russian-Turkish cooperation in legal sphere and of strengthening of mutual understanding and partnership between competent authorities of both states.
