The 15th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is held in St. Petersburg

Today, on 29 November 2017, in St. Petersburg, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation holds the 15th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Meeting is attended by the representatives of the delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the People's Republic of China, Mongolia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan , the Republic of Croatia, the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Executive Committee of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure of the SCO.

The Russian delegation is headed by Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika, who made a presentation on the main topic of the Meeting - countering crimes committed with the use of modern information and communication technologies.

The following issues were included in the agenda of the meeting:

- problems of prevention and investigation of transnational crimes committed with the use of information and communication technologies;

- harmonization of legislation in the sphere of combating crimes committed with the use of information and communication technologies;

- combating crimes committed against minors and youth committed with the use of Internet;

- supressing the use of information and communication technologies for the purpose of carrying out extremist and terrorist activities.

Within the framework of the meeting, bilateral and multilateral meetings were held between the leaders of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and foreign partners.

The event is held in the "National Congress Palace" - the current state residence on the basis of the Konstantin Palace and Park Ensemble.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The main tasks of the organization are strengthening of stability and security, combating terrorism, separatism, extremism, drug trafficking, development of economic cooperation, energy partnership, scientific and cultural cooperation.
