Mr. Yury Chaika, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation met with Mr. Aleksandr Konyuk, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus

Today, on January 31, 2018, Mr. Yury Chaika, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation met with Mr. Aleksandr Konyuk, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus.
Mr. Yury Chaika noted active cooperation between prosecution services of both states at different international fora on topical issues of prosecutors’ activity, as well as successful implementation of Joint Plan of Action for 2017.
The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed his confidence that implementation of the Joint Plan of Action for 2018 will make for further increase of efficiency of joint efforts to counteract crime, and for exchange of best practices.
During the meeting the prosecutors discussed implementation of decisions of the meeting of Joint Board of the Prosecutors General of Russia and Belarus, which took place in Minsk in July 2015. They considered the process of realization of the decisions of the Minsk meeting of the Board and the measures taken in order to ensure rule of law in the sphere of Russian-Belarusian economic relations.
In conclusion the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation appreciated the present level of Russian-Belarusian cooperation. He expressed his confidence that the relations between the prosecution services will remain collaborating, based on mutual understanding and constructive approach to common problems solving.
The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus appreciated important personal contribution of Mr. Anatoly Palamarchuk, Head of the General Department of Supervision over Federal Law Compliance, Mr. Valery Maksimenko, Head of the General Department of Supervision over Inquiry, Investigation and Operational and Search Activity, as well as a number of officers of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to strengthening Russian-Belarusian relations and awarded them honorary diplomas.
