The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting of the Russian-Israeli working group

The sixth session was held of the working group of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel on issues of cooperation in the area of criminal justice.

The meeting focused on the peculiarities of the legislation and law enforcement practice of Russia and Israel in legal assistance in criminal matters involving the offences committed with the use of modern IT-technologies, as well as the practice of consideration by European Union member states of requests for the extradition of their citizens.

There was also an exchange of information on the progress of both Russian and Israeli requests for extradition and legal assistance in concrete criminal matters. Israeli colleagues handed over to Russian prosecutors some materials related to Russian investigations that had been obtained in the framework of legal assistance in criminal matters.

The prospects were discussed of extradition from Israel of a number of Russian citizens with regard to whom decisions are expected to be made by the Israeli competent authorities.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to continue cooperation and hold the next meeting of the working group in Israel in 2019.
