At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan extradited Said-Khusin Takaev to Russia.

He is accused by the investigating authorities of the crime under Art. 209 (2) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a stable armed group (gang) or in its attacks).

According to investigators, at the end of 2000, Takaev joined a group (gang) armed with firearms of different brands and modifications and took part in the operations of this group in the Shalinsky district of the Chechen Republic until the end of 2003.

By the decision of the Shali Court of the Chechen Republic of 12 February 2013, a measure of restriction in the form of detention was selected in respect of Takaev in absentia, and he was placed on the federal and then on the international wanted list.

Since the perpetrator was detained in the territory of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the Azerbaijanian competent authorities. The request was promptly examined and granted on 14 February 2018.

The Federal Penitentiary Service was instructed to take and transfer the man to the Russian Federation.

At present, Takaev has been transferred to the Russian Federation.
