Today, on April 24, 2018, upon the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium are extraditing Dutch national Guido Wolters to Russia.

The investigative authorities accuse him of committing crimes envisaged by Article 210 part 1, Article 188 part 4, Article 228 part 4, Article 30 part 1, Article 228 part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The investigative authority believes that Walters as part of an organized criminal group participated in illegal delivery of narcotic drugs at an especially large scale from the countries of South America through the Russian Federation to the territory of Great Britain with the aim to sale.

The criminal case against Walters is pending at the Investigative Department of the MIA of Russia.

Since Mr. Walters escaped from prosecution he was declared internationally wanted in April 2010.

In May 2013 in connection with the establishment of his whereabouts on the territory of Belgium the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition with the aim to hold him criminally liable to the competent authorities of the said state.

Thanks to the close cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium it became possible to secure the decision in favor of his extradition in March 2018.

Today Guido Wolters accompanied by the officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Bureau Interpol Russia is being extradited to Russia.
