At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Portuguese Republic extradited to Russia the RF citizen Roman Granadsky.
He is accused by the bodies of the investigation of the crime under Article 162 (3) (robbery committed with illegal entry into a home) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to investigators, in July 2016, in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Granadsky illegally entered the victim’s house. Using a knife, he threatened to use violence to her and her minor daughter, and demanded that the money kept in the house be given to him. When the woman began to scream, Granadsky tied her hands with a belt, and then he stole her property.
Since Granadsky had absconded from prosecution, he was put on the international wanted list at the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation.
In August 2018, he was detained in Portugal, after which the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition for his criminal prosecution.
Owing to the close cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with the competent authorities of Portugal, it was possible to secure a decision on his extradition.
Accompanied by special escort, Roman Granadsky was brought to Moscow.
