Today, on 14 November 2018, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the Russian national Ilya Malchikov was extradited to Russia from the State of Israel.
He is accused of the crime defined in Article 30 (3), Article 228.1 (3 “г”) (attempted illegal sale of a psychotropic substance on an especially large scale, - as amended by Federal Law of No. 87-FZ of 19.05.2010) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to investigators, in May 2011, in the town of Gatchina, Leningrad Region, Mr. Malchikov illegally sold a psychotropic substance to another person - a mixture containing amphetamine weighing about 250 grams. However, he could not bring his criminal intent to the end, as he was detained by law enforcement officers.
Since Malchikov escaped from the investigation, he was placed on the wanted list.
In February 2015, after he was established in the territory of Israel, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the competent authorities of Israel. The request was granted in September 2018.
