A Russian national accused of illegal storage of narcotic drugs has been extradited from the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation

Today, on December 7, 2018, by request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation Russian national Khalid SHAKHIDOV has been extradited from the Federal Republic of Germany.
He is accused of the crime stipulated in Art. 228.1 part 1 (unlawful acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs, without the intention to sale them) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, in August 2016, Mr. SHAKHIDOV gathered hemp containing narcotic substance cannabis (marijuana) for his own consumption. He had been keeping this narcotic substance until it was seized by police officers in the course of a body search.
Since Mr. SHAKHIDOV escaped from the Russian law-enforcement bodies he was declared wanted.
At the beginning of 2018, he was located in Germany. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation requested his extradition.
Thanks to close cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and its German colleagues, in November 2018, the extradition of the above accused was granted.
Officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation have convoyed Khalid SHAKHIDOV to Moscow.
