Today, 25 January 2019, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the Russian citizen Vangel Radev was extradited from the Republic of Bulgaria.
He is accused of the crime under Article 30 (1), Article 228.1 (3 "г") (preparation for the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, committed on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, in April 2012, in the city of Tyumen, Radev ordered and received through a post office a narcotic substance weighing 199.41 which is a particularly large amount.
In addition, he acquired a narcotic substance prohibited for turnover in the Russian Federation weighing 17.65 grams, which is also deemed a particularly large amount, which he kept in his car for the purpose of illegal sale.
Since Radev had disappeared from the investigation, he was put on the wanted list.
In December 2018, upon establishing his location on the territory of Bulgaria, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the Bulgarian competent authorities and this request was granted in January 2019.
Vangel Radev was taken to Moscow accompanied by a special convoy.
