Delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation took part in an international workshop conducted in the Republic of Belarus

In implementation of the decision of the Joint Board of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus of 29.09.2016, a delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation took part in the international workshop on formation of unified approaches to application of the EAEC customs legislation, enhancement of the struggle with customs offences and the corruption in customs authorities which was conducted in the city of Brest (the Republic of Belarus) on June 21 – 22, 2018.

The international forum was attended by executives and representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus, the State Customs Committee, other supervisory and law-enforcement authorities of the Republic of Belarus. The Russian delegation was represented by officers of the Department for Supervision over Compliance with Transport and Customs Legislation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office and the Northwest Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

The discussants touched upon issues of organization of prosecutorial supervision over execution by customs authorities of the legislation regulating movement of goods to EAEC member countries and to third countries. They paid attention to the experience in the sphere of countering customs offences at goods movement by individuals for personal use. A special discussion was aroused by issues of application of the customs legislation at carrying out the supervision over the customs value and in the sphere of compliance with prohibitions and restrictions.

Parties shared experiences, exchanged views on the most significant topics of supervision practice, elaborated mechanisms of further interaction.

The workshop participants noted that meetings of the kind would be held regularly to solve questions demanding a joint discussion.
