Today, on 18 December 2015, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain will extradite the Russian citizen Konstantin Chebuchakov to Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
The investigation authorities accuse him of the crimes under Article 131 (2"b") (rape committed by a group of persons) and Article 132 (2 "b") (other actions of sexual nature with the use of violence and threat of using violence in respect of the victim, committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
A criminal case against Chebuchakov is being dealt with by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo Region.
The investigation revealed that Chebuchakov together with a group of persons had raped and committed violent sexual acts against two girls in July 2008 in Novokuznetsk.
Given the accused fled from the investigative authorities, he was put on the federal wanted list in July 2010, and after receiving information on the possible location of the specified person outside the territory of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities issued a ruling of February 2011, to put him on the international wanted list.
In June 2015, Chebuchakov was detained on the territory of Spain.
In July 2015, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation submitted to the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Spain a request on his extradition to Russia, which was granted in November 2015.
Accompanied by the special escort, Chebuchakov will be transferred from Madrid to Moscow.
