Russian citizen Denis Volkov charged with robbery extradited from Vietnam to Russia

Today on 22 January 2016 the competent authorities of Vietnam at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation are extraditing Russian citizen DenisVolkov to Russia.

The investigative authorities accuse him of a crime under part 3 of article 162 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The criminal case against Mr. Volkov is being processed by the Division for investigation of crimes in the Kanavino District of the Investigative Department of the Nizhny Novgorod Department of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia.

The investigation established that in April 2014 Mr. Volkov and his accomplices broke into apartment of a local resident and threatening her with an object that looked like a gun, made the woman to give them all valuables and money she had. Their actions caused the woman damage of over 200 thousand rubles.

Considering that Mr. Volkov fled from the investigative authorities, he was put on the federal wanted list in July2014 and on the international wanted list in September2014.

In July2015Mr. Volkov was detained in Vietnam and in August 2015 the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent to the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office of Vietnam a request to extradite Mazursky to Russia, which was granted in December2015.

Today Mr.Volkov is going to be extradited to Russia escorted by officials the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation and the Russian Bureau of Interpol.
