Today on 12 February 2016 the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation are extraditing Russian citizen Mr. Islam Labazanov to Russia for execution of the sentence of the Teykovo District Court of the Ivanovo Region.
The court has found Mr. Labazanov guilty of theft which he committed in May 2011 in the town of Teykovo by breaking through an open window during the night time into the dormitory room and stealing property.
In October 2011 he was convicted by the Teykovo District Court of the Ivanovo Region for committing a crime under item "a" of part 3 of Article 158 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced to 2 years of suspended sentence with probation period of 1 year 6 months.
Considering that Mr. Labazanov violated the rules of the sentence service by leaving the boundaries of his permanent residence in the Republic of Dagestan, in June 2012 the Buinaksk City Court cancelled his suspended sentence and sentenced to transfer him to a penal settlement for serving of a real sentence.
He was put on the federal wanted list in August 2012 and on the international wanted list in October 2014.
In connection with the fact that Mr. Labazanovs location was identified on the territory Germany, in May 2015 the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the competent authorities of this country a request to extradite Mr. Labazanov to Russia, which was granted in January 2016.
Today Mr. Labazanov is going to be extradited to Russia escorted by the officials of the Russian Federation Penitentiary Service and the Russian Bureau of Interpol.
