Russian citizen accused of illegal deprivation of a person’s liberty, as well as illegal acquisition of narcotic drugs, was extradited from Poland at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia

Today, Sergey Kramarenko was extradited from the Republic of Poland to Russia with a view to his criminal prosecution under Article 127 (2 "f", "g" ) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal deprivation of liberty, by a group of persons by prior collusion against two or more persons) and for the execution of the sentence of the Industrial District Court of Stavropol of 02.17.2017, by which he was convicted under Article 228 (1) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs, without the purpose of their selling, on a large scale).

During the investigation, it was established that Kramarenko, by prior collusion with other persons, in early February 2017, in Stavropol, acting intentionally, being aware of the social danger of his actions, brought two citizens, against their will and consent, to an apartment on the seventh floor of a residential building, and tied the victims’ hands with plastic binders in order to suppress their will to resist and kept them in the apartment until 02.07.2017, depriving them of the ability to move freely, to identify the place in which they were held, to communicate with other people, thereby depriving them of their liberty.

A decision was made to arraign Kramaremko as an accused, he was put on the federal and international wanted list, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for him.

In addition, by the decision of the Industrial District Court of Stavropol of 02.17.2017, Kramarenko was convicted under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs, without the purpose of their selling, on a large scale) to 1 year of suspended deprivation of freedom, with 1 year of probation. Due to the fact that he avoided fulfilling the obligations imposed him by the court, hid from the control of the criminal enforcement inspection, by the decision of the same court of 031.05.2017 the suspended sentence was rescinded and he was sentenced to 1 year of deprivation of freedom with serving punishment in a colony settlement. The decision entered into force on 14.06.2017.

In October 2018, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation sent an extradition request to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland, which was granted in May 2019.

Owing to the coordinated actions of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and close cooperation with the competent authorities of Poland, it was possible to reach a decision on the extradition of Kramarenko to Russia.

Kramarenko was brought to Russia accompanied by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
