Russian citizen was convicted for forging a driver’s license on the basis of the materials received from the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Latvia

The Zhukovsky City Court of the Moscow Region found the citizen of the Russian Federation Boris Tarasov guilty of forging a driver’s license.

The investigation of the criminal case on forgery with the view of further use of the licensing document was carried out by the competent authorities of the Republic of Latvia.

In 2019, Tarasov’s whereabouts were established in the territory of the Russian Federation. In this regard, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Latvia provided the case file with the request for criminal prosecution to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation. The interaction was carried out in accordance with the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Latvia on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal matters of 3 February 1993.

The Court sentenced Tarasov to punishment in the form of limitation of freedom for a period of 6 months.
